Fashion Revolution

We're here to share a different story about the clothes we put on. We are designers, academics, authors, brands, retailers, advertisers, suppliers, employees, trade unions and fashion enthusiasts. We are the industry and we are the general public. We are people of the World. We are you!

Fashion now ranks among the most globalized sectors. This globalized model is

decentralized, opaque and based on the exploitation of valuable people and resources,

especially from marginalized communities. We need to reconsider the workings of the industry. We need to think of a model again.

Fashion has enormous social and environmental impacts, and mostly harmful ones.

Clothing manufacturing and the way we take care of our clothes after buying them uses

vast quantities of property, electricity, and chemicals, polluting sources of water, and

generating too much wastage.

If we want to see fashion become a positive force, we will have to change the way we

think regarding what we are wearing and why we are wearing it. We ought to be more fond of our clothing. We need to look at them as important jewels and friends of faith.

We 're fashion lovers. But we don't want to misuse our clothing, or ruin our world. We

are calling for fundamental, transformative reform.

Many companies are being honest on where their garments are manufactured and

indeed the environmental effect that their fabrics bring. More manufacturers make their

industries safer and they see and listen more from the people in the supply chain. When

creating new clothes more designers consider people and the planet. More people think

before they purchase a product.

But it's far from over. We are just really starting. We can't just stop unless every worker

who makes our clothes is appropriately seen, heard and compensated and the

environments in which they work and live are secure. We can't even stop before we change the perception of usage, and also learn to love and respect our outfits as well as

the people who created them.

We believe that when we all think differently about fashion and demand better, positive change will come. We want the fashion and textiles industry to be cleaner, safer, fairer, more transparent and more accountable. We would like to see fashion become a positive force. We have faith in an industry which similarly values individuals , nature, innovativeness and benefits.
