Note: Smoking is injurious to health.

Most smokers start smoking in their teen ages. Especially those whose parents or friends are involved in smoking and also those who want to prove themselves cool or want to give it a try.

The cigarette industry also have a big role in promotion of cigarette by advertisement in which they portray cigarette smoking healthy, safe and adventures which excites the young youth. A research shows that every day 2500 to 3000 children under 18 try their first cigarette and 400 of them become new daily smoker. Adult smokers who had their first cigarette, 87%of them start smoking at age of 18 and 95 % adults start smoking at the age of 21. People who start smoking at early age are likely to develop severe addiction towards cigarette.

Social media and film also have influence in this bad habit. One study have found that teens exposed to the highest amount of smoking in movies were 2.6 times more likely to start smoking themselves compared with teens who watched the least amount of smoking in movies. Menthol cigarette is mostly used by newcomer as it's easy to smoke as compare to other cigarettes.

Who is most likely to become addicted?

Anyone who starts using tobacco can become addicted to nicotine. Studies show that smoking is most likely to become a habit during the teen years. The younger you are when you begin to smoke, the more likely you are to become addicted to nicotine.

hey youngster! it ain't MacDonald boy.

According to the 2014 Surgeon General’s Report, (SGR) nearly 9 out of 10 adult smokers started before age of 18, and nearly all have started by age of 26. The report estimates that about 3 out of 4 high school smokers will become adult smokers – even if they intend to quit in a few years.

According to the 2012 Surgeon General’s Report:

“Of every 3 young smokers, only 1 will quit, and 1 of those remaining smokers will die because of tobacco-related causes. Most of these young people never considered the long-term health consequences associated with tobacco use when they started smoking; and nicotine: a highly addictive drug, causes many to continue smoking well into adulthood, often with deadly consequences.”

Why cigarette is so addictive?

Nicotine and other chemical in the cigarette are easily absorb in blood through lungs and spread in all over the body through blood which make a smoker feel relaxed and give pleasant feeling and also distract the person from tension and other worries for temporarily. It effect brain and central nervous system which affect the mood of smoker and it have its effect which is for few time and this makes user to take it more and if it is not consume by the time, it creates mood swings and irritate a person. That's why cigarettes are very addictive for human body as it makes a person dependent.

You are just smoking your lungs out not that stress.

Knowing its bad consequences on health, a sane person would never opt for it. Smoking is a bad habit but it is possible to leave it. A ray of hope is still there, smoking can be quit if a smoker wants to and give up on his habit which will surely prevent him from many diseases and he can live a healthy and happy life.
